Difficulty

The Poon Hill Trek is considered easy to moderate.

No technical climbing experience is required, but you should be comfortable walking for several hours a day on uneven and sometimes steep terrain.

The biggest challenge is the repeated ascent and descent, particularly the stone staircase between Nayapul and Ulleri and the early-morning climb to Poon Hill.

Basic cardiovascular fitness and regular walking before the trek are recommended.

Packing List

Essential items include:

  • Comfortable trekking shoes

  • Lightweight backpack

  • Warm layers

Safety and Altitude
